My study abroad: Roosa and Erika – Malta
“When we went there, we didn’t know each other and then we became really close friends… It was so nice to learn with each other.” -Erika
“It wouldn’t be the same without Erika – the experience with the people, the language, and the culture. I think everybody should have that same experience.” -Roosa
EF is not only about enriching your language skills, it’s also about the experiences you have along the way. For Roosa and Erika, this meant finding a good friend in an unexpected place.
When Roosa, 16, traveled from Finland to Malta, she was expecting an educational experience in a beautiful location. Erika, 14, set out with the same trip in mind, with no idea that she’d go on to meet one of her best friends in the process.
When the two arrived in Malta and met for the first time, it didn’t take long for their friendship to form. Having someone around from the same home country was a pleasant surprise. It gave them each someone who could relate to all the new and unique experiences.
They never signed up expecting to have someone to share such a personal experience with, but it turned into a pleasant surprise for them both. Just listen to their story:
