Making Strides Against Breast Cancer with EF Academy New York

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and our students were ready to support this important cause. EF Academy New York’s Student Council recognized the importance of this topic and decided to take action. Our students quickly spread the word and were thrilled to share the results. Many different organizations on our campus participated in their own way as well to add to the success of the fundraiser, such as bake sales, apparel purchases and more.

The Varsity Girls Volleyball team paid for their new team uniforms and the money was donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an American Cancer Society fundraiser supporting research dedicated to breast cancer. Thank you to the team, Coach Roach and Coach Kelly for the support.

The Activities Department held an after-school fundraiser selling smoothies. At this fundraiser, students and staff collected the proceeds and donated them to the breast cancer fundraiser. Thank you to Ms. Jesudoss, Mr. Valenti and Ms. Gasparri for their support with the activity.

As of October 22, our EF Academy team raised $528 towards breast cancer research with the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser. Next year, we plan on attending the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, held at Manhattanville College in Westchester County, New York to show our school’s support and help raise awareness for this important cause.

We are hopeful that the other sports teams will find their own way to contribute to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser on our EF Academy Team.
