5/10k Rotary Race at Blenheim Palace
The EF Academy Oxford Running Team have been busy again, putting all their hard work and training to the test, by entering another fundraising race. This time it was held at Blenheim Palace, the famous stately home of the Churchill family, only 30 minutes away from the Academy. Even so, the staff and students taking part had to get up bright and early, setting off at 8am so that they could get to the start line in time.
Nevertheless, all the students cheerfully gave up their Sunday morning lie-in to raise money for a good cause.
Here second year IB student, Kika Vasinova, describes the day:
On a lovely cloudy Sunday, students from EF Academy participated in a race which was either 5 or 10 km, depending on everyone’s decision. The purpose was to raise money for a Charity: ‘Ucare, an independent charity which is committed to improving the treatment and care of cancer patients through research and education’ and it took place in the grounds of the beautiful Blenheim Palace near Oxford. It was just two weeks after the Run or Dye Race, but the students did not lose any energy and were ready and excited for another running challenge. The students and teachers encouraged each other throughout the race and all managed to cross the final line successfully.
Well, who would not enjoy a run encouraged by everyone’s clapping at the end and being aware of supporting those who need it? EF Academy’s students like to help anyone and help make them feel happy.
