В придаточных предложениях часто стоят предлоги, и относительное местоимение является объектом этого предлога. В повседневной английской речи предлог обычно стоит в конце придаточного предложения, и местоимение может как присутствовать в предложени, так и быть опущенным. В формальном английском предлог стоит перед относительным местоимением, и в этом случае местоимение не может быть опущено. В примерах ниже местоимения, которые стоят в скобках, могут быть опущены.
